SKATER-PRENEURS OF THE DMV: WOMEN PIONEERING THE WAY!

In an exhilarating and unprecedented undertaking, film producer Tati Kolina sheds light on the stories of several women entrepreneurs in the skateboarding community of the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia metropolitan area. The short film “Skater-Preneurs of the DMV: Women Pioneering the Way!” will premiere on The Blue Stone Stage at the Kennedy Center on Thursday, September 1 at dusk.

Tati Kolina, alongside film director George Howard, introduce the experiences of the talented and thriving women pioneers serving our local skateboarding community; highlighting organizations such as Brackish Waters Surf and Skate Shop, Bearings Magazine, Ad Meliora Skateboards, Baltimore’s “Best Hon”, President and Founder, Skatepark of Baltimore, Stephanie Murdock, as well as Kolina’s own creative lifestyle organization, sPACycLOUd and non for profit, Skate Girls Tribe.

“Film is a powerful platform to showcase and amplify the incredible female-led organizations in our community,” Kolina said.

Femmes, friends, and families are called to attend an evening of full immersion into the lives of DC skateboarders and creative entrepreneurs. There will be a skatepark installation for one night only and attendees can skate and chat with the wonderful women of the film and their organizations. We encourage the community to support local, support creativity, and support women-owned businesses of the DMV.
